The OHS Act, when promulgated, caused a dramatic shift in the way in which human resources were managed, mainly due to the penalties involved with non-compliance, and specifically the accountability placed on the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of every company.
SafetyNow (Pty) Ltd was established in 2017, inspired by Nicky’s part-time role as a lecturer in Health and Safety Management. Recognising the critical need to prepare learners for the practical demands of the corporate environment, the business was formed to bridge the gap between academic knowledge and workplace application. With a 27-year tenure in Higher Education, Nicky has spent nearly three decades implementing OHS management systems for complex environments involving staff, students, and contractors. Her dual role as a practitioner and an active lecturer ensures that SafetyNow remains at the forefront of safety pedagogy and legislative evolution.
